10 THINGS ONE HAS TO DO to Achieve Financial Independence
- submitted by Gary A. Cross
1. Having the ability to work at what you love is a great start in the right direction.
2. Define your business in 50 words or less.
3. Do what you do even if you are not paid.
4. Develop a passion for what you do.
5. Sell yourself – enthusiasm sells.
6. Find a need and fill it – build a better mouse trap.
7. Offer an alternative option – would you prefer (a) or (b), which would suit your need?
8. Be consistent – Become the brand, increase demand – find your Big Mac!
9. Always be professional – set a standard.
10. Study the competition. Learn their strengths and weaknesses.

CONCEPTS GLEANED FROM GARY A. CROSS
* Under today’s conditions, it’s almost easier to start your own business than to find a job.
* It’s a new century. Now is the time to run TOWARD your goals.
* Be aggressive, be creative in purusing your goals.
* Change your mind and you can change the world.
* Change the product.
* Get experience. Make a name for youself.
* You have to crawl before you walk.
* Find a need and fill it.
* Enthusiasm sells.
* Leave your ego at the door.
* Do you want to be right, or do you want to get what you want?
* Assume the sell.
* Be a great listener (two ears, one mouth).
* Become the best you can be.
* Plan you work, and work your plan.
* Be well rehearsed.
* Be in consultation mode, rather than sell mode.
* Network means Net Worth.
* Show the value. Add quality and create perceived value.
* Find a mentor.
* Be nice to everybody. You never knows who knows whom (six degrees of separation).
* Anything your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.
* Be like the woodpecker; keep hammering away at one place and you will break through.
* Money is a tool.
* Vision, passion, consistency.
* Have a mind set of above-and-beyond-the-call-of-duty.
* Money is a tool. Make money work for you.
* You can’t let someone else’s imagination become your reality.
* Where there’s a will there’s a way. Continue to find a way.
* Believe in YOU.
* Get to the point of “I can do this!”
* It’s more crowded at the bottom. As you climb the ladder of success it’s gets less and less crowded.
* Failure is part of the process.
* What do you offer? What is your competitor offering?
* Pay yourself a salary first.
* Pay taxes quarterly.
* Pay for the things you need on the front end.
* If you use your money wisely on the front end, you’ll find the rest is not wasted.
* If you invest the rest with someone who can do a better job with it than you, you’ll find your money will be there when you need it.
* Set your priorities.
* Plan to win.
* Create quality above and beyond, create value beyond.
* It’s a new century. Now is the time to run TOWARD your goals.
* Be aggressive, be creative in purusing your goals.
* Under today’s conditions, it’s almost easier to start your own business than to find a job.
